TELEPHONE CALLS

To make it easier for you, please follow these suggestions:

• For routine calls, please call any location during office hours. Our receptionists will take your name, telephone number and reason for calling. Your call will be returned by a nurse, nurse practitioner or physician as soon as possible.

• If you are sick, please call as early as possible. It will be easier to get an appointment for you that day.

• Calls after regular office hours should be of an emergency nature only.
For emergencies, when you cannot reach your primary care physician, please call the office and our 24 hour answering service will get in touch with the physician on call, who will get back to you as soon as possible. If the problem cannot wait, go to your nearest emergency room or dial “911”.

It is difficult to treat patients over the phone. Many allergic problems have similar symptoms and require an examination for accurate treatment. It is not good medicine to prescribe medication over the phone for a problem which has not been evaluated.
