Telephone Calls and Seeing the Doctor
To make it easy for you, please follow these suggestions:
| |
For routine calls, please call
any location during office hours.
Our receptionists will take your name, telephone number and
reason for calling. Your call will be returned by a nurse or
physician as soon as possible. |
| |
When calling for a prescription
refill, please call before you run out of medication. Make sure
you have your pharmacists phone number. Refills will not
be called in if you have not seen the physician or nurse practitioner
within the preceding 3 months. We cannot refill prescriptions
after hours or on weekends. |
| |
If you are sick, please call as
early as possible. It is easier to get an appointment for you
that day if you call early in the day. |
| |
Calls after regular office hours
should be of an emergency nature only. For emergencies, when
you cannot reach your primary care physician, please call the
office and our 24 hour answering service will get in touch with
the physician or nurse practitioner on call, who will get back
to you as soon as possible. If the problem cannot wait, go to
your nearest emergency room or dial 911. |
| |
When coming into the office for
injections and/or office visits, please remember to always register
your name on the Sign-in List at the front desk. |
It is difficult to treat patients over the phone. Many allergic
problems have similar symptoms and require an examination for accurate
treatment. It is not good medicine to prescribe medication over the
telephone for a problem which has not been evaluated. |
